RS Smart Little Pep

RS Smart Little Pep is by Little Tequilla Lena, the highest point earning foal of Smart Little Lena (first Triple Crown Winner) with 407 points in Working Cow Horse, Heading, Heeling, Reining, Tie-Down Roping, and Halter. Little Tequilla Lena is black and stands in Tennessee. Little Tequilla Lena sold at the Triangle sale a couple of years back for $55,000. Granddam, Smokins Token earned $21,119 NCHA and was the PCCHA 5 year old Classic Champ. She produced money earners in NCHA, NRCHA, and NRHA. When we first acquired RS Smart Little Pep, his dam, Solano San Badger's owner, Dave Anderson who told us that the mare was a super hipped, straight, good natured, well-balanced mare but he had never showed her. Anderson shared a great deal about Tuff Time Peppy who was a great stallion that produced several point earning performance offspring. He was the sire of futurity winners in cutting a nd a World Show qualifier in Working Cow Horse. He was also the sire of three Dakota Classic Cutting Champions with his colts earning over $100,000 ($40,378 NCHA) in the cutting pen. Tuff Time Peppy is fairly famous in South Dakota as a sire of strong cowhorse broodmares; some that were the foundation of the Cowan Brothers mare band. They owned the great sire, Sun Frost (now deseased) which when bred to these daughters of Tuff Time Peppy really produced some outstanding quarter horses many of which have earned their weight in buckles and saddles and several outstanding breeding stallions. Boss Solano and Docs Solano are also earners of AQHA points, too. Boss Solano earned 41 performance points and sired earners of over 1400 AQHA points including 21 ROMs. Doc's Solano was an AQHA Champ with 66 points and sired 154 earners of over 21,000 points including 1 AQHA Champ. Tuff Time Peppy's dam Sissy Freckles earned 7 worki ng points, NCHA COA with earnings of $1,709 and produced ROM offspring with $10,813 NCHA. She would be a half sister to Freckles Playboy and Colonel Freckles. If you look at Tuff Time Peppy's extended pedigree you will be amazed at all the greats on there: 17.19% Leo with three crosses, an own son of Peppy San Badger, Sugar Bars and on and on. Tuff Time Peppy daughters can be found in mare bands all over South Dakota. RS Smart Little Pep has been ranch ridden. He produces athletic, smart, stylish colts with bone and athletic ability that often come with crome. He has all the looks and disposition you could ask for in a stallion.
